Whether you prefer classic twinkling displays or innovative light arrangements, this is your chance to add sparkle to our community and spread holiday cheer.
To ensure a fun and safe competition for everyone, please review and adhere to the following guidelines regarding the use of lights and decorations. These rules are designed to maintain our neighborhood’s aesthetics and ensure the safety and comfort of all residents. Let’s come together to celebrate the season responsibly and enjoy the wonderful displays our community has to offer!
Contest Rules:
Mindful use of lights
Please refrain from using excessively bright or distracting effects, such as intense flashes. Homeowners are advised to position their lights thoughtfully, ensuring they do not shine directly onto roads or impede drivers’ visibility.
Remember, it’s not just drivers who are affected. Overly bright or flashing lights can be disruptive to neighbors and may pose health risks to individuals with certain medical conditions. Please adhere to a reasonable level of brightness for your holiday lights.
Additionally, we ask residents to turn off their holiday lights overnight. This helps conserve energy and ensures that everyone can enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep. Let’s celebrate the season responsibly and considerately.
Limitation on decoration size
Holiday decorations should be of a moderate size to maintain neighborhood aesthetics and safety. Please choose decorations that are tastefully sized and suitable for our neighborhood setting.
Secure anchoring of decorations
To ensure safety and prevent potential damage, all outdoor holiday decorations must be securely anchored. Homeowners are responsible for firmly attaching their decorations to the ground or to a stable structure on their property, safeguarding themselves and their neighbors.
Noise control for decorations
In line with our existing HOA noise regulations, we ask that any holiday decorations incorporating sound are used considerately. Loud decorations should not be operated during typical sleeping hours, specifically from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. We encourage the mindful use of sound-emitting decorations, keeping in mind the comfort and well-being of all residents.
Decoration boundaries
Decorations should be confined to the homeowner’s property. Common areas fall under the association’s management and should not be decorated by residents. Homeowners are encouraged to express their festive spirit within the bounds of their own property, ensuring that decorations do not extend beyond their property lines or encroach upon community areas.
Exceptions
HOA board members may not enter as a contestant nor serve as judges for the holiday lights competition.
